excuse : was going to post this a couple days ago, but my draft got deleted -
read further to gain knowledge of : Four young northbound lads, three frantically put together shows and too much Rosé all stuffed into a single Nepunatic tour.
EXPOSITION: Our good friend Shane D. Moylan (Ex-Weatherbox/Meraki) had asked us to act as his backing band over the Summer for a tour, but it was logistically impossible. After tinkering around with our scattered schedules we finally arranged this mini tour as middle ground between our red-hot desire to smother the Cali Coast in our passion and the cruel cruel reality of having the repressing weight of jobs and 10AM classes on our backs.
For those who missed it, we lived streamed our string of Dawayne Neptune practice sessions on pericope. For those who missed it (you, probably) here is a tiny snippet from Silvio's backyard:
FRIDAY SHOW HICCUPS: A broken snare, faulty cable and a Dawayne Neptune tuning finding its way into the BBB set...

The sets we played were fine enough, but the night ended going down a peculiarly odd path as a drunk lady began hitting on Waldo (Silvio) and Alex and Jordan saw a car drive off of the 15 South. Man Cave festivities later took place and we all PTFO.

In the morning, Papa Moylan graciously reached out to us with a burrito-filled hand and sent us off. sidenote: Shane and Jordan regrettably ate theirs 30 hours later.

When we arrived in Santa Barbara we were blown away by the not only the intensity, but the spectrum of partying occurring down in Isla Vista. We were playing a Vegan Co-Op house show right across the street from a bunch of Fraternity Bros running around with socks on their dicks (hazing season).

Before the show, we explored DP and the general bubble of the Isla Vista party scene. We met up with some old friends, met and posed for traveling photographer Julie Anne and adopted our very own Koto.
I don't know if it was the anarchic vibe of Isla Vista or what, but the show that night was just ridiculous. About three hundred kids showed up to jam and jammin.was.had. There were BP tables out the whazoo, kids jumping off roofs and crowdsurfing.... it was a lot for us puny SD folk! Really expanded our mentality of what a house show could be. Soooo much thanks to Rachel Taylor n the Dashain House for makin' that happ'n.
Oh yeah - SATURDAY NIGHT HICCUPS: Couldn't sleep on our assigned couches because too many people had passed out of em. Jordan and Silvio bonded over an overnight car slumber.

In the morning, we assembled ourselves and had bagels with Rachel before trekking on to SF.

SF: Ah, it felt good to be back in SF. This was our 3rd or 4th(?) time playing the Honey Hive Gallery. We've played here with a bunch of friends in the past - The Obsessives, Sleep Spindles, Plunger... Gotta say- this show was stacked so I needa describe it in some amount of detail.

Good friend of BBB, Sam Ruth (EPSOM), opened the show with his unparalleled electronic music. If I had to choose a FFO, maybe I'd say Aphex Twin but it's even then it's kind of a stretch.
Highlight: Steve (FDZ) and Dom rapping over Eviction (must see).
PS check out a video Jordan made for EPSOM here.
BBB & FFF had played together two times prior to this night so we are quite familiar with their mathy ways but gOtdamn this show in particular was tight. Shane deemed one of their songs "math rock damien rice" which is wack and farfetch'd in one way but entirely accurate in another...
Highlight: Mathy chromatic riff in the first song of their set- Leslie (guitarist/singer) said they might cut it--- Leslie if you read this please don't !!!!
note: song below is not the chromatic-riffed song
The Dawayne Neptune and BBB sets were fun and sad. Our final huzzah, the icing on the cake - literally in a dawaynish sense -------
SUNDAY NIGHT HICCUPS: So many friends and such little time to catch up, a god damn dawayne tuning wound up in the BBB set again, a homeless man repeatedly told Jordan "I am going to beat you up, you dumb curly motherfucker" and we lost our fuggin snare for a scary moment

HOME BOUND:
The drive from SF to SD was brutal as we had to leave a little after 11pm (we had misplaced our snare head).
To stay awake during the drive we drank Monster Coffee (shitty, but not as shitty as you'd expect), tried to add moving melodies to monotonic Cake vocal parts and debated about the artistic integrity and purpose behind naming your band " *insert name here* and the *nouns* ".
At about 2am at a rest stop on the 5S, we saw the true face of fear as we looked over to the car parked next to us and made eye contact with a guy getting road head (does it count if the car is parked? please discuss...)
After dealing with morning traffic in Anaheim, we finally made it back to SD at around 8am.
